Installation
Follow the installation guide in the user manual for Linkbox+ Geo for installation of the Linkbox+ Geo.
The below instructions are specific for the wire harness and external WiMEA antenna in the Linkbox+ Geo Kit.
Emergency stop
Connect the yellow (or yellow/black) eStop wire from the boat's wiring harness to the appropriate kill switch wire, and connect the black wire to ground (GND) wire. Refer to the provided illustration for correct wiring.
The eStop wire is designed for Close to Stop (CS) systems, where the manual kill switch engages by grounding the kill switch. Verify that your engine uses a Close to Stop kill switch system before proceeding with the connection. For inboard engine boats, consult with a dealer or qualified technician for proper installation.
Note
- Installation of the eStop function is recommended to be carried out by professionals familiar with electrical wiring in boats.
- If retaining a mechanical kill switch, connect the Linkbox+ eStop in parallel to it.
- Use marine-grade butt splices or similar connectors to ensure all wire connections are waterproof.
- Avoid modifying the original wiring of the kill switch.
Power connection to the boat harness
Connect the power (PWR) cable and ground (GND) cable to the 12V system in the boat.
Peripheral connections
Peripheral connections are currently not supported for the Linkbox+ Geo.
WiMEA antenna
- Connect the external WiMEA to the left gold colored connector when viewing the hub from the front. Tighten the connector using an appropriate tool, avoid using excessive force.
- Use magnetic tape to mount the antenna in the console, overhead cabinet, or behind the helm. External antenna installations may require marine silicone sealant and a through-hole fitting. Mount the antenna in an unobstructed location at least 30 cm (10 in.) away from other electronic equipment.
- Connect the antenna harness to the Linkbox+ Geo
- Secure the antenna harness with cable ties
Note: The antenna must be mounted in a vertical position as indicated by the green check marks in the illustration below. The connectors for the GPS antenna (right) and the WiMEA antenna (left) are not interchangeable. However, do not use excessive force when mating the connectors, as this may cause damage.
Connecting the wire harness to the Linkbox+ Geo
Connect the wire harness (center) to the Linkbox+ by inserting the connector and engaging nut. Hand tighten to ensure the connector is fixed.
